Our Team
Hilary
Professional Dog Trainer | National Registered Paramedic

My name is Hilary, and I was born and raised in Vermont. Starting in third grade, I owned a small business called Hilary’s Pet Daycare. My parents would drive me to local houses to let out/watch dogs. I then started working as a first responder on ambulances at 15 years old. I eventually graduated from New Hampshire Technical Institute with an A.S. in Paramedic Emergency Medicine and a Nationally Registered Paramedic #M500409 at the age of 22. I spent 6 years as a Paramedic with a total of 13 years working in EMS. I earned my B.A. from Northern Vermont University focused in Management. I worked in areas from rural Vermont to the big city of Boston, MA.

Whats meant to be will be and that it did. Fast-forward to today, and I am the proud owner of Grand Lac Dog Training Company and New England Dog Training Company with an amazing team of trainers.

Phillipi “Mountain” got his start with dogs in 2010 during his 4th tour, 1st to Afghanistan. The USMC had taken on the IDD program which equipped infantry Marines with single purpose explosive black labs to work during patrols in theater. He did 1 more deployment to Afghanistan, this time working in the Command center coordinating fires and assists, the dogs being one of them. Upon his exit from the Marines, he continued to pursue his knowledge and capabilities within the K9 world. In 2019 he was an instructor for a pilot program for the DoD and USA Special Operations Command. The course took place in Alaska teaching special operations K9 teams how to track and traverse across the austere terrain of Hatchers Pass. He has contracted across the country as an explosives K9 handler for the Anaheim Angels, to the Philadelphia Eagles as well as trained and supplied EDD’s for the Tampa Bay Devil rays. Mountain instructs the tracking courses for Spike’s K9 founded by former DEVGRU handler Jimmy Hatch and provides tracking education and training to police departments across the country. He instructed multiple courses for some of the largest K9 seminars in the world including HIT’s and ATK9. He has assisted with instruction to Tier 1 assets from the USA, and Netherlands. Today he runs Para Bellum K9 located in rural Gloucester Virginia and lives with his wife Ashley, and his 4 children.
